Can You Use Plant Hormones to Naturally Manage Diabetes?

Diabetes remains one of the fastest growing health issues in the world today. Not all members of the diabetic community have this horrible disease, but their lives are affected by it. Some are using plant hormones to naturally manage diabetes. Parents, siblings, extended family, and teachers belong to the diabetic community. We believe the latest research with plant hormones and managing diabetes needs to be shared because it gives us HOPE! Read on to learn more.
When the Nobel Peace Prize in medicine was given for the discovery of insulin, diabetics everywhere rejoiced, they had HOPE. Diabetes still existed, but diabetics could live longer lives. This discovery saved countless lives worldwide.
Today the number of people getting diabetes is growing faster than ever. The numbers and the costs for treatment have skyrocketed and predicted to rise even higher. Recent findings from the University of Genoa, Italy have been published that bring diabetics a new HOPE for tomorrow! And it is very exciting.
You may be surprised that research wasn't done on some new compounds created in a high tech laboratory to create this hope. This wasn't accidental, as was the discovery of penicillin. No sir. This discovery was made using a science we call homeopathy. It uses naturally occurring compounds or substances to treat an illness or disease.
In this case it was plants and plant hormones, to be more specific. The founder of homeopathic medicine, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, has been called the father of experimental pharmacology (the study of medicines). Along with his colleagues, they catalogued over 200 medicines, primarily of plant, mineral, and animal origin.
Dr. Hahnemann's "Law of Similar," or "let the likes treat the likes," belongs to him. But shamans, spiritual healers and naturalists have used naturopathy for thousands of years. You may have also heard it called natural medicine.
What Are Plant Hormones?
How do these naturally occurring substances, plant hormones, benefit the diabetic community? Plant hormones have been around as long as there have been plants. Hormones in humans weren't isolated until the early 1900's. Plant hormones are naturally occurring substances we can use for disease management.
Plant hormones were isolated and named in the mid 19th century. Plant hormones work in a manner similar to the way human hormones work in that they are chemical messengers regulating various body processes. For example, insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels in animals and humans.
Plant hormones perform an extremely important function in the survival of a plant. They are just as important to plants as our hormones are to us. Without hormones, we would die.
Plant hormones are also known as signal molecules. They signal the plant when to grow up, grow down, form leaves, form fruit, drop leaves, everything.
It has been generally accepted that there are five classes of plant hormones. The effect of the inhibitor plant hormone known as abscisic acid took researchers by surprise. Type II diabetes patients worldwide have been given new hope.
Finally, The Wonder Hormone Gets Recognition in Italy
The plant hormone in this research is abscisic acid. It restrains growth of the plant and plays an important role in the conservation of water in the plant. It also was the basis of this research. For all you adults and children that have diabetes type II, this research holds great promise for you.
This is the time for you to take your diabetic treatment to another level. Here is what the Federation of American Societies For Experimental Biology reported in December 2015. The most important factor to monitor with diabetes is glycemic (blood sugar) control. Why? Because chronic high blood sugar readings are the best predictors of the later consequences associated with this disease.
A diabetic has a better chance to avoid kidney failure, blindness, neuropathy, dementia, and other problems if they control blood sugar readings. The study showed that abscisic acid helped to control blood sugar levels in rats and humans. The studies were very extensive. Further studies are needed, but the door has been opened for new pharmacologic diabetes treatment research.
The progression of the disease is slowed as a result of better blood sugar control. Eating foods high in abscisic acid increases resistance to pathogens, has anti-inflammatory properties and may reduce the risk of cancer.
Researchers concluded since beta cells that release insulin don't work as hard, their life is extended. Eat your veggies and fruits. They have the highest concentrations of abscisic acid. Once again there is renewed HOPE!
