This topic is an interesting one. When we take a look at the word unknown you can imagine that that word really does mean “experiencing fear”. The main battle I see many of my clients struggle with is an overwhelming feeling of mental and emotional blocks .

These blocks are created in our over mind and it’s how we analyze the world around us. Fear can't stop us in our tracks and keep us paralyzed where we are today. Most people tend to focus on what other people are doing and this comparison can also be a hindrance in your way.

Here are some simple ways to start removing fear from your life and start living a more meaningful life

1. We tend to get over stimulated with the world around us. There's so much going on around us everyday. The noise can really get to you if you allow it to you. Most of us living in an environment that stresses us out one way or another.

Become aware by mindful transforming the world around you. You do this by simply going feng shui! Yes, arrange your living space in such a way that is unquing you. This will remove negativity, slow down your anxiety, maximize your light and improve your mood.

2. Stop judging yourself based on comparison with those around you. When we judge ourselves based on other people’s ideas of what is the norm it can make us paralyzed and overwhelmed. Nothing will ever get done or accomplished if you focus on what other people are doing. It’s overwhelming enough to watch social media, magazines, books, TV shows, movies, etc. Once this starts to happen again stop yourself from watching overstimulated information.

Give yourself time by shutting off from the world. Turn off anything that gives you that anxiety and fear. Also next time occurs, turn off the phone and only answer calls at certain times that is most important, such as family, emergencies or work. Taking a weekend break can strengthen your mindset and allow you to overcome that unknown fear around you.

3. Acknowledge the resistance and just ride the wave. Acceptance and releasing resistance is one of the most powerful tools you can use in your tool box to overcome fear of the unknown. Start this simple process by forgiving yourself. Most of the time fear comes from a belief system that is false. We often grow up with a belief system that our parents and loved ones have ingrained in our minds.

If we are not accepted for the work we do, the ones we marry, the religion we don’t or do indoctrinate that isn’t accepted or is judged by our loved one’s this in turn can cause you to lose your footing in the world around you.

Start focusing on what is a true belief related to the world around you which is perhaps factual. An example would be “society's rules.” According to Vishen Lakhiani for MindValley, stated that a Brule is a rule that we adopt to simplify our understanding of the world. It allows us to play it safe and blindly follow the path that others follow and just conform.

This goes on for generations! Next time these unknown fears come up ask yourself is this a made up belief system I’ve created due to my upbringing? If so begin to analyze this and start making more rational thought processes to break the cycle of unknown fears.

4. Looking to the future and not the past. Start making charts or vision boards to finally start getting excited for your future ahead. Start questioning what your fears are centered around in order to break this vicious cycle of fear.

Embrace change without doing the same things you once did in the past. For an exercise focus on your vision board by not resisting change. Allow yourself to do so by walking toward a path of enlightenment. Travel more, do one thing you haven't done before, eat different cultural foods, enjoy different types of music from other countries and have friends outside of your regular circle. By facing your fears head on you’re able to embrace change in your life.

Start by acting on these fears once it starts coming up again. Confinding, limited beliefs are one of the biggest obstacles standing in your way today. By embracing change, acknowledging resistance around you and looking to the future rather than staying stuck in the past are just some of the most impactful ways to overcome paralyzing fear of the unknown in life.
