A Juicing Recipe for Autoimmune Health

WHAT IS JUICING

Juicing is currently a huge trend in the wellness community but just in case you are not familiar with it yet, here is some important information you need to know.

Juicing is a process where the natural liquids, vitamins and minerals are extracted from fresh fruits and vegetables, stripping away any solid matter from the sources. This means, you are left with only the nutritious liquid or juice.

However, this liquid isn’t just any hydrating liquid. It is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds and phytonutrients.

BENEFITS OF JUICING

There is lots of research that shows the amazing benefits of juicing. Aside from its healing properties, juicing has also been found to facilitate weight loss, increase energy levels, improve the immune system and strengthen bones.

Juicing also reduces a person’s chance of heart disease, cancer and strokes, three of the leading causes of death.

Additionally, a growing body of research points out that most vitamin supplements don’t help prevent diseases as they are synthetically made. They are produced through a laboratory simulation of the real thing.

For the body to effectively and quickly absorb vitamins, they must come from plant-based sources like fruits and vegetables. This means, juicing is a great (and delicious) way to supplement your body with natural vitamins which it can readily use.

For those with digestive conditions, it’s pretty difficult to consume the recommended 5 to 8 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. It’s far easier to get those servings by simply juicing.

There are several great juice machines out on the market that can be extremely expensive. But, saving up for one might actually be the best thing you can do for yourself this year. You won’t regret the benefits that juicing has to offer you!

JUICING FOR BEGINNERS

Before juicing, wash your fruits and vegetables thoroughly. This would ensure that any potential pathogens on them are removed before consumption. That way, you can safeguard yourself from foreign harmful micro-organisms that may invade your digestive system.

Also, a good way to ensure that you don’t ingest harmful pesticides and herbicides is to buy organic produce as often as possible.

Place your fruits and vegetables in a bowl with warm water then add some apple cider vinegar and baking powder. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then rinse them with water.

CLEANSING DURING COLD MONTHS

A juice cleanse may not sound so appealing during colder months. Fortunately, there is a great alternative – soup cleanse. You may learn more about it in a previous blog post we’ve made.
