If you were to start empowering yourself to take responsibility for your holistic health what steps would you do?
As women in today's busy world, we are often too disconnected from ourselves to answer this question, especially if we’re suffering from some type of chronic condition. Do you resonate with this?
Here are 4 steps that you can take right now to take responsibility for your holistic health:
Own your self-worth: This might be a tough one for you to zone in on. Especially when your self-confidence is lowered each and every time you pop medications with side effects. Or you’re in pain emotionally, mentally and physically and you simply just can't get out of bed because of your chronic fatigue. It can become a challenge to forge forward every second, every minute and every day.
Try grounding yourself to Mother Earth. In order to get heart-centered to your soul it is very important to take the time to connect with your own spirituality. Doing so keeps us from having the negative inner chatter that doesn't allow sound guidance for executive decisions related to your health.
I often ask my clients to get grounded by taking simple herbs that can strengthen the heart chakra. Journaling is also a gentle way to feed the essence of who you are.
Gentle movement, like taking walks and allowing the breeze to brush across your face, is a gentle reminder that you are loved in this universe. The energetic vibration received by just being out in nature will elevate your mood and soothe your emotional challenges.
Take your unique stance in the world: The hustle and bustle of life can keep us paralyzed, adding to the suffering from chronic conditions. Every morning, you must have purpose and set intentions for yourself.
However, you’re an individual, and you have your own unique purpose in life. Taking your own unique stance will help you own your true voice and create the health and wellness that you desire. Feel free to own your presence and be strong enough to make those decisions for yourself.
By taking your own unique stance and standing up for yourself and your health, you become stronger and more powerful, allowing you to live a more fulfilled life.
This can be done by simply committing to take time for yourself each day. Turn off all distractions (like your phone notifications), find a quiet place, and meditate.
Taking simple actions every day to create your own path is the most profound decision you can ever make in life.
Stop the Blame Game: Stopping the blame game is one of the most impactful ways to help you gain responsibility for your health. This can be completed by letting go of past emotional pain and hurt.
It starts with forgiveness. Forgiveness wipes away all resentments and past transgressions. It allows our hearts to be softened and open to receive more love and kindness, and it lets us have better relationships with loved ones.
Release the fears, worries and doubts. Rest your shoulders heavily on what matters most to you in this world. Let go of blaming your spouse, partner, siblings and friends. This does not serve you (or anyone) in the long run. Resentment creates stress on the body and increases inflammation as the years go by. This is often why you hear sad news of someone receiving a serious medical diagnosis after a tragic or traumatic incident in their lives.
Use Powerful Intent with Purpose, and Take Action Daily: Having a clear understanding of your purpose is essential to accomplishing your health goals.
Holistic medicine looks at the body as a whole and creates a more balanced approach than conventional medicine’s compartmentalization of symptoms.
Having a clear vision of your health objectives can be a big step towards improving your overall well-being. What does your optimal health look like on an emotional and mental level? What does your holistic health look like on a physical level? Visualize this everyday and - most of all - own it!
The more you ask yourself these questions, the more you are guided to your actionable steps and decisions regarding wellness.
Being connected to other women in health can also give you a boost of self-confidence, elevate your mood and strengthen your resolution to improve your chronic conditions. By being in a community that supports your vision, you improve your emotional mindset and get one step closer to a healthier life.
Making sound choices strengthens your commitment to the daily decisions centered around your wellness. It creates confidence, removes fear, worry and doubts.
Optimal health and wellness is a journey of continual improvement, not a one-size-fits-all pill for improving your chronic conditions. It takes time, work, and support. Empowering yourself to accept responsibilities around this mindset will gradually help you enjoy the wellness journey rather than become bored and stagnant. Health habits are created gradually with sound, mindful choices in life.
